Considered one of the most important nights in the travel industry calendar, winners were announced at a prestigious ceremony at Battersea Evolution on 25th November. The gala was attended by close to a thousand travel industry professionals.

Winners were chosen by members of the public, with travellers voting for companies they believe are providing the best products and services in leisure and travel.  Between July and September 2015, 1.2 million votes were cast online by a quarter of a million people.

Ian Darkin, Director of One Traveller, thanked his loyal customers for showing support.

“We’re thrilled to have won for the second year in a row. It means a lot to our team, and is recognition of all the work we put into our holidays to make sure every guest travelling alone has a fantastic experience.

“We hope it reassures people thinking of taking a solo trip for the first time, that there’s a company out there who really understands the needs of mature single travellers.”

After nine years as a tour manager, travelling worldwide, Ian and his wife Emma founded One Traveller in 2007. The whole team has many years’ experience, leading holidays for mature single travellers in the UK, Europe and worldwide. And every year, they help 3,000 guests take a solo trip.

British Travel Awards’ chief executive, Lorraine Barnes Burton, added: “This is the largest awards programme in the UK and to win is a clear statement that companies are providing excellence in travel to the discerning consumer.

“The travelling public regard the British Travel Awards winners’ logo as the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who are the best travel companies, and One Traveller is to be congratulated on their achievement.”
